So Glossybox was VERY delayed this month and kept people wondering whether or not they would get it before the end of the month, and also about the items included- would it be worth the wait?
Here’s the first look! They went with a pink Valentine’s Day theme, all wrapped up with a bow and an information card with a heart on it.
I always positively comment on their packaging and the information card they provide as it helps to reveal information about the included products. They hadn’t given away many spoilers this month so I wasn’t sure what to expect and admit I’m half happy, half disappointed.
Here’s the entire box!
First up, we have a brand I’ve never heard of before but am interested in trying… it’s called OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel, and it’s a product you use as a base (like primer) before applying makeup for shine-free results. With OC8’s 8-hour formula featuring ACRYSORB®, micro-particles trap facial oils to reduce shine and redness for up to eight hours. I just started using primer (I thought it was useless, oh how was I wrong!) and I think this is considered full-size, so I can’t wait to test this out.
I guess I got lucky because I received two of the Lauren B Beauty Nail Polishes! This beautiful light pink color is called City of Angels, and it’s not quite sheer, but not fully matte and flatters all skin tones. I’ll definitely be using one and gifting the other!
I have to admit, I’m really disappointed with GlossyBox for this one… This same exact Eyelash Curler was included in their September Box (see here) which is only 6 months ago, meaning anyone who was signed up for a 6-month, 12-month or on-going subscription could have easily gotten this product already. AND, they included it as a “freebie” in their Elle Collaboration Box (see here). It would be different if it was a product from 12+ months ago, but to see it again so soon, it seems like a filler because they ran out of other items. THUMBS DOWN.
Next we have a deluxe sample of Pureology Colour Fanatic, a hair treatment spray that provides 21 essential benefits to prime, protect, and perfect colour-treated hair. It’s a pretty cool and innovative concept and I’ve never used it before, so I’m excited to try it out.
Next, we have a full-size Sumita Eyeliner Pencil in Kala (Black). I always use eyeliner and mascara so this is definitely a good item to have.
All in all, I was happy but not overwhelmed with my February GlossyBox. I used my GlossyDots to purchase it (so it wasn’t a total loss), however I never got shipping information or e-mails confirming my order or that it was on it’s way and no responses to my e-mails inquiring about it. Plus, it arrived on the last day of the month. Maybe they were trying to make up for it by throwing in an extra nail polish? I will definitely use all the products (except the duplicate polish and eyelasher curler because I currently own 2) but I wish I had gotten the Figs & Rouge Lip Balm or Puffy the Eyebag Slayer Wake Up Under Eye Patches.
