PijonBox ~ February

image

My Pijon Box Care Package has arrived! If you recall from my previous boxes like the Winter Break Edition (see here) and November (see here) boxes, you can see that Pijon Box offers a care-package style box for male and female college students containing items from beauty and health to snacks and classroom accessories.

Here’s the first look! They included an information card listing all the products that are included, and some details about rating your Pijon Box and earning points.

Just from checking out the info card, I had a pretty good feeling about this box…

Quick preview and onto the descriptions!

First up, we have this duo of Color Club Nail Polish in Nature’s Way and Love Links ($8 value each). I don’t think the picture quite does justice for the pale-nude color, as it’s more of a beige than a white. Ironically, it fights right in with my Naked Nails article! The other color is a not-quite bright red shade which is nice as well.

Next we have Popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick ($3 value)! This is a definitely cool and unique item, and I’ve actually been interested in trying Popbar for quite a while as they offer customized ice-pop bar creation. You simply submerge this into hot milk and let it melt to create your own mug of hot chocolate. I’d prefer/like to try this in dark chocolate, but am sure this will be enjoyable as well.

Next is an OatWorks Pomegranate Blueberry Smoothie drink ($3 value), which I actually received last month in my Bestowed Box as well. I’m a little split on this product, because I like the concept: berries = antioxidants, delicious, fiber + oatmeal= healthy, fiber, whole grains, however I’m not 100% sold on the flavor yet. Maybe if I blend it into a smoothie…

Next we have a Brush with Bamboo Toothbrush (Value $6). I just replaced mine, so I won’t be able to test it out yet, however it is supposed to be an eco-friendly alternative. The bare toothbrush handle can be disposed of in a commercial composting bin and will safely return to the soil within 6 months.

This next little packet is Reviver “Freshness on the Go” Dry Deodorant for Clothes (Value $2). This multi-use swab is great to get rid of any unwanted smells, and can be used over and over. So, whether you’re coming from a smoke-filled bar or a dockside fish market or simply running errands after a gym workout, these wipes offer a powerful, portable solution… I only wish they threw in a few more!

GO! Towel 100% Organic Bamboo Compressed Towels (3 Pack) ($4 Value) These are going to be a gym bag staple of mine because these little round pods open to 12″ x 20″ – soft, unbleached and unscented Compostable 100% Organic Compressed Bamboo Towels.

First of all, I have to say I LOVE Rooted Beauty! I received Raspberry Citrus exfoliating wipes in a previous Pijon Box (see here) and loved not only the smell but what they did for my skin. Therefore, I was more than happy to see this Rooted Beauty Razz Lime Lip Butter  ($5 value) in my February Box. I was extremely confused at first about how to take the cap off.. and thought It might be a travel & throw away type, where you cut the top off. Surprisingly enough, it slid off easily and the butter went on smoothly.

All in all, I was happy with many aspects of my February Pijon Box. While I am not a huge fan of Oat Works and own more nail polish than I need, I enjoyed trying out the eco-friendly and organic products like the Rooted Beauty Lip Butter, Bamboo Toothbrush and re-usable Deodorant Wipes. I do slightly wish there was a little more ‘college-related’ items, like microwave-safe bowls in cool colors, a playing card game (whether drinking related or not), decorations for a dorm or things to keep my books/papers tidy and organized, or a theme that all the items revolved around.

What did you think about this month’s women’s Pijon Box? Interested in your own- sign up here!
