Boxycharm ~ October 2014

Boxycharm is one of my favorite beauty subscription boxes at the moment, and based on the theme and spoilers, I was more than anxious for it to arrive so I could check it out. The theme of this month was “Bewitched“, … Continue reading

Ipsy GlamBag ~ November

image

My Ipsy Glam Bag has arrived! I have been subscribing to Ipsy for almost a year, and have found myself pretty happy with the $10 per month beauty subscription. The only thing that keeps me anxious is that I’m always one of the last ones to receive my package each month!

The theme this month was Glam It Up, and they actually included 6 items instead of the usual 5, one being an Em by Michelle Phan new product! Earlier this month, I released spoilers here on the items you could have possibly received.

And, as usual, each month they included an information card with the discount/promo codes you can use for future purchases. Plus, now, on your Ipsy GlamRoom on ipsy.com you can review products and earn points to use toward product purchases.

So, here is the Ipsy November Bag! They opted for a gold patterned clutch with a hot pink zipper, and luckily, a handle! I’m happy that this one has a little handle as you can actually use it as a clutch for a night out, whereas I use my previous bags to hold makeup or for re-gifting.

First up, we have this Pixi Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched! Thankfully, they matched up the color with my skin tone, because I was nervous I would get a deep bronze that would make me look orangy. I’m running low on my usual NYX bronzer too, so this came in perfect timing.

Next, we have HSI Professionals Argan Oil Leave-In Treatment. This mini container seems like it won’t last very long, however I am a new huge fan of oils for my face and hair, and so I’m excited to test it out and see if it makes my tresses soft and smooth.

Next we have Starlooks Eyeliner in Amethyst. While I like that this is a full-size eye pencil, I’m not really 100% sold on the color. It’s a little lighter than I would opt for, and I would have preferred a bold teal or blue.

Here we have Em by Michelle Phan Volumizing Mascara in… brown. I was really excited to get this product until I saw that the color was not black, but boring neutral brown. I don’t see myself using this, so I’ll probably give it away to a friend or try to trade it.

Here we have Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Caviar Cocktail, a medium bullet-metallic silver shade. I actually like this color a lot more than the gold/bronze shade we could have gotten and think it will be a great option for either Christmas, New Years or a night out. I’m not in love with this product but will definitely find a use for it.

Finally, we have Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon in Hot Damn. While many people were annoyed to see this bold red color in their bag, I actually was happy because over the past few months, I have received various pink lip crayons and needed a change. I think it will be a nice change from using lipstick and I’m excited to try it out.

Here’s the whole set of products I received in my November Ipsy Glam Bag! In general, it wasn’t my favorite bag, as while I liked the types of products I got, most of the colors were just not right for me. I’ll definitely use my Pixi Bronzer, HSI Argan Oil and Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon, but the others I could live without. I am pretty happy with the actual Glam Bag, as it’s different than others I’ve received before, and has a little handle. In an ideal world, if I got the GlamGlow, my mascara was black and the eyeliner a different color, I would be ecstatic.
