I was very excited for my Ipsy Glambag to arrive this month, based on the sneak peeks that Ipsy supplied on their Facebook page. Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to posting about all the spoilers, but never fear, I still have a great review for you! The theme for July is “Sensational Sunkissed,” which meant we would be seeing some sun safety items, possibly waterproof beach items and fun, bright colors.
First, we have Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil in SPF 8. I know many of you are asking, “what’s the point of SPF 8.. that barely does anything!?” Well, it’s definitely better than rubbing straight up baby oil on your body and I was starting to get annoyed by all the sunscreen products that have been in my beauty boxes. While I wouldn’t recommend this to pale-skinned beauties or to those going to the beach for 6 hours, it is okay for use in small periods of time. Best of all, it’s made of natural ingredients and oils, so you don’t even have to use it ion the sun, but can use it as a deep skin or hair oil treatment.
Next is PUR Minerals Big Look Waterproof Mascara with Argan Oil. I was so excited to see this product in my glamroom as I am a mascara-a-holic, and it’s even waterproof for summer! I recently heard about Josie Maran’s argan oil mascara, and so I’m starting to think a new craze is catching on. At first, I even thought this was a turquoise-blue colored mascara (based on the bottle and packaging) and while that would have been a fun product, I’m much happier to see that it’s a bold black.
I’ve been contemplating buying Benefit Benetint for quite a while, when this gem Elizabeth Mott Tints & Sass ended up in my glamroom! This lip (and cheek) tint is very similar to Benetint with its light staining formula and pinkish-red hue. The bottle is non-drip and spill proof (phew!) which comes in handy as this tint is a watery liquid-based product that gives a sheer natural tint, versus a matte or bold lipstick or blush.
I wasn’t too excited/impressed by this Befine Food Skin Care Daily Moisturizer with SPF. I mean, I’m sure I’ll use it, but I currently have 48734587 moisturizers to use up first! The benefit it does have is that it’s packed with powerful antioxidants, proteins and natural oils and ingredients like with Rosemary Leaf Oil, Pomegranate Extract, Safflower Seed Oil, Aloe Leaf Juice and rice protein.
This month everyone received a BareMinerals eyeshadow, either the 5-in-1 BB Cream Eyeshadow or the Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 powder. I’m not totally sure the color of mine (no sticker with it) so I’m guessing it’s either Sweet Spice, Cinnamon, Radiant Sand or Elegant Taupe, seeing as it’s a medium tan-brown color. The BB cream formula that I received is actually pretty cool– it goes on smooth, stays on, and blends well, but doesn’t blend all the way off. I’m not usually a fan of cream or liquid eyeshadows, but this one gets a thumbs up in my book.
Here’s the entire set of items from my July Ipsy Glambag! I’m happy that they sent some full-size products, along with deluxe samples, so that I felt as though I was getting the most for my money. I also really like the variety: tanning oil, eyeshadow, lip/cheek tint, lotion, and mascara, as I feel like it covers all the bases and isn’t a “makeu-up heavy” or “skincare heavy” bag. My favorites this month have to be the Tints & Sass and Big Look Mascara. The only let down would be the Befine moisturizer, but that’s a personal preference of having way too many moisturizers and lotions. Many people were hating on the pink scalloped edge bag, but I actually think it’s pretty cute!

I also received the Be.Fine moisturizer and I love it! I am pretty picky about lotions. I love the way this one smells and it leaves my skin feeling soft but not greasy.
