So.. I may be addicted to makeup.. and online shopping.. hell, just shopping in general! But when an awesome deal pops up that I think is worth my while, I can’t just let it pass by. Which brings me to my impulsive, exciting Sephora Haul!
I had some items in mind that I wanted to purchase, plus a promotional code AND my free VIB birthday gift! And so, here’s the first look! We’ll start with the item(s) I purchased and then move onto the freebies…
Okay, so this was actually an unusual purchase for me. I found this Clinique Black Honey Beauty Kit and was just in total awe of the color. I never usually opt for brands like Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc, just due to the price tag and my love for other brands such as Urban Decay, Stila, Too Faced and Benefit. However, I just had to give in for a few reasons: It was only $25, the color was TO-DIE-FOR, and I already know the mascara is great from testers.
So, to break it down: there were 2 full-size and 2 mini products in this package. This is a.14 oz Clinique A Different Enamel in Black Honey. I am loving that it’s small enough to be portable, but to still last long. I have been rocking all types of dark shades lately like blood reds, oxblood, burgundy, etc and so this totally fits my mood.
Next we have a .06 oz (full-size) Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. If you look at the picture, you’ll be shocked and turned off by ‘how dark it is,’ however it doesn’t quite go on as thick and matte as a true lipstick. Rather, this gives me a hint of color and a glossy sheen, and so it comes out as a lighter burgundy/dark cherry shade. To be honest, I was a little disappointed as I wanted that bold, intense lip, however I will still use this product.
Next we have a ‘mini’ .21 oz Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Black Honey, which I plan to apply on top of the Almost Lipstick product, to extra enhance the color and give it a glossy look.
The final product of this package, is one that I’m most excited about: a .14 oz High Impact Mascara in Black Honey! I absolutely adore Clinique’s mascaras and will be sure this use this often.
So, if some of you are VIBs, or just deal-finders, you’ll know that recently Sephora offered a clutch filled with deluxe samples with any purchase of $25 or more. Simply by using the code BLITZ (still works, but not all bag options are left), I chose the Holly Jolly option as it had more lip/eye products that were better suited to me.
You get this above black woven makeup clutch filled with an array of products from 1-time samples to deluxe samples. (UPDATE- They’re now offering a patterned makeup bag filled with 12 basic samples on orders of $25 by using code FIXIT)
So the first deluxe sample is of Living Proof Nourishing Styling Cream. It is a styling cream that smooths, conditions, and eliminates frizz by blocking humidity without weighing hair down. This bottle is the perfect size to throw in my bag on a humid day or pack for a weekend/vacation away. I’ve never used this brand before, however I’m excited to try it out now.
This was one of the top reasons why I chose this bag over others.. This is a mini Fresh Sugar Petal Lip Treatment, a sheer pink-tinted lip balm that smells and tastes amazing and goes on smoothly. I first fell in love with Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments when I received a duo-set as my Sephora Free Birthday Gift last year. The full size retails for $22, so this one has to be around $10/$11… Score!
This was another product I was intrigued by… Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray! It’s a soothing prep spray that features vitamin B6, which absorbs oil, minimizes pores, and reduces redness. The full-size 4oz. bottle sells for $33, so this is worth about $5. Not bad.
I know from experience that Origins is a high-quality brand, and so i was happy to see this Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Cream with SPF 25, even if I don’t have much use for an anti-aging product yet. I think I’ll give it to my mom as a stocking stuffer for Christmas! Surprisingly, it’s worth $18 because a full-size is $55 for 1.7 oz, and this little guy is only .5 oz.
Next we have a mini Too Faced Beauty Balm. This little .5 oz tube is also surprisingly pricy for it’s size.. a full-sized 1.5 oz tube is $34, so this happens to be $11! BB Creams are perfect for when you need to prime, moisturize and apply foundation but either are short on time or just want a simple quick fix. It’s a tad darker than I would use normally, but luckily is a somewhat ‘universal’ shade and easy to blend.
I have a new-found love for Buxom products that I never knew existed before! I recently received a Buxom Lip Gloss in my October Ipsy bag, and so I was happy to see this Buxom Lash Mascara, a volumizing mascara for bigger, fuller lashes, in my bag! Apparently you can buy this mini directly from Sephora and it sells for $10!
Now onto the one-use and regular samples… This is a one-time sample of Clean Original Eau de Parfum. I decided to keep it in my work desk if I ever need a spritz, but it’s not my favorite scent.
Finally, we have Peter Thomas Roth Oilless Oil 100% Purified Squalane, a skin-softening moisturizer that improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, elasticity, and radiance without adding oil to your skin. I’m interested to try it, as I’m loving facial oils lately, and only wish it was a larger sample.
Here’s my whole collection of deluxe samples from my Blitz Bag! So happy with the majority of the items, and the fact that they came as a FREE gift with my purchase!
Now, here’s my freebie Birthday Gift from Sephora! I loved last years lip duo from Fresh, and was happy to see that this year was designed by Benefit and included They’re Real… one of the best mascaras ever.
These two mini-sized products are perfect for my makeup bag. I’ve used Benefit They’re Real many times before and so I was ecstatic to see it in this set. The other product, Benefit Watts Up is a soft focus highlighter with a delicate champagne glow. I’ve never used it before so I’m excited to test it out.
And, of course, Sephora always lets you pick 3 freebie samples! There wasn’t anything I was ‘in love’ with, so I just picked out an Agave Argan Oil Hair Treatment, Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Foundation and Marc Jacobs Daisy Fragrance.
For $32, I got a LOT of stuff and I am extremely tempted to keep purchasing.. Don’t forget that you too can score some free bags filled with samples by using the code BLITZ or FIXIT for a limited time.
xo, Kenzie
That Clinique mascara looks AMAZING! I also got the birthday gift and love the highlighter stick. It is subtle enough for my natural style, and adds just the right amount of shimmery glow!
You will love the peter thomas roth oiless oil. My skin has improved so much. Its sooo smooth, brighter and soft! I purchased the full size for $38. That itty bitty tube ya have?Well, I got the same bag and used the oil everyday and it has lasted me about 2 weeks! a little goes a long way. have fun with your purchases and it was nice reading about your haul!<3
Amazing! I have become a new-found oil lover and so I’m really happy that the sample lasts that long.. I’ve been using Josie Maran Light Argan Oil lately and have a feeling I’m getting hooked!
