There are subscription boxes… and then there are ‘turn your entire weekend into a spa day and forget about everything else’ subscription boxes! Okay, so maybe that isn’t a genre or name, but it’s definitely how I felt after getting my first YuzenBox. I believe I signed up for the wait list for Yuzen back in May, and finally, in the beginning of September, a spot opened up for me!
For $33 per quarter/season, Yuzen sends you a cute box packed with spa and pampering goodies delivered to your house. The products range from bath products like salt soaks and bubble baths to candles and goodies. So.. here we go!
I opened the lid to my box to see a cute little note card from Jen and Ted, talking about changes in the season, revitalizing yourself, and taking the time to pamper yourself.
The card opens up and lists all of the different brands included in the box, like Juice Beauty, Coola and Sanitas, just some among the many. Plus, there are a bunch of promo codes!
Their packaging was awesome: it had this sweet floral Japanese geisha feel, and the colors and designs of the packing matched the information card as well.
Inside were a bunch of business cards, information packets, promo codes and basically ways to get more info or re-order a product.
So now… onto the goodies.
This half see-through package was stocked full of products! I couldn’t see them all right away, but knew there would be a body wash, exfoliating scrub, and some candies.
First up, we have Sphatika Citrus Cleansing Foam, made with essential oils of Grapefruit, Mandarin and Bergamot, and meant to help you get clean and clear, glowing skin.
Right next to that is Acure Argan Cell Stimulating Body Wash. I really like how the body wash is meant to really nourish your skin and is made up of Moroccan Argan Stem Cells, Organic Argan Oil, CoQ10, Sea Buckthorn Oil, and Pumpkin Seed Oil.
Then you’ll see the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Facial Mask (for sensitive skin) This is a combination product as it’s meant to exfoliate, clear dead cells, brighten and even skin tone and help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and make you feel and look fresh and new. I’ve enjoyed past Juice Beauty samples and products and so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this as well.
The “Soul Sister” Organic Lavender Nut Sugar Scrub by Verve smells okay- I’m not a huge lavender person. It definitely is a relaxing smell, but I would never want to smell like it all day/have as a perfume. I’ve used various sugar scrubs before however, and so as long as this one doesn’t have a sticky-oily residue, I’m in.
Coola is a brand I’m very familiar with. If you remember, my July Ipsy Glambag had the rose tinted moisturizer in it! While I think this is Moisturizing Sunscreen a good product, I think it should have been included in their Summer box. While many people wear sunscreen year-round or have sunscreen in their face lotions, it leaves my skin too greasy and feeling like there’s a layer of product on it.
Sanitas Vita-Rich Serum is supposed to go deep into your skin to rejuvenate cells and help you to have smooth, glowing skin. It’s definitely a moisture-inducing product and meant to smooth away lines and impurities. I have quite a few serums at the moment, however I’m sure I’ll use this in the future.
Now we have the Tridoschic Bath Tea. This metallic packet contains a satchel inside, filled with an array of herbs, flowers and scents, meant to be soaked in your bath. With ingredients like Organic Eucalyptus, Chamomile, Lavender and various flowers, it is supposed to put you into a relaxing atmosphere and help you focus on detoxing and refreshing yourself after a busy week.
Finally, we have the Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candies, which were a nice addition to the collection of bath and body items. In a flavor like blood orange and honey, they were a bit sweet and sour, and worked perfectly together. I’m already a fan of hard candies and often opt for lemon, so this was a win for me.
So, here’s everything that was included in my Autumn Yuzen Box! Did anyone else get it and enjoy it? Even though I’m not a big fan of lavender (and it’s in two of the items),I really like the array of items: scrubs, cleansers, soaks, etc. The quality, brands and quantity make me feel as though it’s well worth the money, which I don’t often say.
Way to go, Yuzen! Can’t wait for the Winter Box, and I really have my fingers crossed for some scents that remind me of Christmas and the holidays.
xo, Kenzie
