BoxyCharm is a one of my favorite newer beauty subscription boxes right now, always providing high-quality name brands and products. I’ve enjoyed the past few months, so I decided to continue subscribing in hopes of getting more amazing items for the low price of $21 per month.
Each month they include an information card relative to the theme, August being “Beach Babe” to help enjoy and soak up the last bits of Summer…
First we have ModelCo. Cheek & Lips Tint ($22 Value). This is similar to a Benetint product, where it’s a liquid/cream format that you can use on either your lips or cheeks. It’s good to add a hint of color, but I recommend using a beauty blender or sponge. It definitely takes some testing out to get the hang of it, but then the color is great!
Then we have Ofra Lipliner in a pinkish-purpleish-nude color ($13 Value). I’m not loving that this is almost identical lip pencil to last month… some people got eyeliner and some got lipliner again, and this color doesn’t really go with my lipsticks, so I would consider this a let down.
I was excited to see this Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen in Showroom ($22 Value). I have been loving Tarina Tarantino lately since I received Hyperlight and Hyperliner in a previous Boxycharm (see review here) as well as a pearly primer in my Wantable Makeup Box (see review here). Althought I had my fingers crossed for a bolder color like Watermelon Wow or Floriculture, this is a very pretty light pink shade and I love the packaging.
Next, we have Enter Pronoun Bronzer in Blowtorch ($35). This is actually a DARK bronzer, so I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t go with my skin tone, but when you use a light amount of it, it adds a nice hint of color and is great for contouring.
Finally, we have a Morphe Brushes Deluxe Powder Dome Brush ($19.99). This brush is SO SOFT, and perfect for either powder, bronzer or blush! I totally love it, I only wish the handle was a bit smaller so it was more portable.
All in all, my August BoxyCharm was a great box besides for them sending out a lipliner TWO months in a row! Additionally, like I mentioned last month, I really wish they would put together a survey where you can fill out your skin/hair/eye tones and color preferences, as I would love more bold, bright pink, purple and berry lipsticks, and am wary of bronzers that are too dark or make you look orange.
