I love chocolate… the taste of it, smell of it, combination with dried fruits, nuts and other flavors… and so I was very excited to hear when Memebox was coming out with a Cacao Cosmetics box! More than that, I was excited when they offered to send it to me to review for all of you!
I really enjoyed my Rose Box that I received last month (see here) and so my hopes were high for this delectable cocoa-crafted combination. So, here we go! This is the first look at the box, with the information card on top, and items packed to the brim.
This box included the following (full-sized) items:
Etude House Milk Talk
WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask
Pure Smile Chocolate Milk Essence Mask
Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert – Coconut and Cacao
Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub Chocolate
Purederm Nose Strips in Choco Cacao
First, we’ll start with the WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask ($38 value). This was the “sneak peek” for the Cacao Cosmetics box, and definitely lured a lot of buyers in with its high-end price tag and claims of bright, smooth, clean skin. This warming, dark, gooey mask smells like heavenly chocolate and cleanses away dirt, impurities and oil, cleaning out your pores and leaving you with a fresh, clean canvas. Not only does it smell and feel like chocolate frosting, but it’s made with real cacao!
Next up is the package of Purederm Nose Pore 6 Strips in Choco Cacao ($6 value). This package of 6 chocolate-scented nose pore strips are designed to unclog blackheads, whiteheads, dirt and oil. Basically, your typical ‘nose pore strip’; that cleanses the skin, but it comes in a yummy chocolate flavor instead of herbal or fruity. I have seen this brand/product at Forever21 and so I’m curious as to whether it’s really a Korean or American brand…
Etude House Milk Talk ($7 value) is a chocolate milk scented shower gel and bubble bath. It smells heavenly, like you’re bathing in a tub of chocolate milk and never want to get out! I’ve heard great things about this brand in general, and can definitely see myself purchasing this!
Pure Smile Essence Mask Chocolate Milk ($1 value) is a paper mask, soaked in cacao extracts, vitamin E, and collagen which all work to hydrate and smooth out uneven skin texture. I put mine on while running a bath (with the Etude House Milk Walk bubbling in it) and it not only smelled great, but I felt like it was really working.
Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub in Chocolate ($11 value) is a lip scrub that contains sugar, cacao extracts, bees wax, shea butter, jojoba oil and macadamia oil. However, it is a tough one for me to review… I love the packaging, think it looks cute and smells good, however, there is not much ‘scrub’ going on, so it’s like a lip rub, rather than scrub!
Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert Cream in Coconut and Cacao ($18 value) is a face wash/cream smells amazing! The combination of chocolate and coconut works perfectly, and the formula is a smooth cream that turns into a sudsy wash. I just take some out with my fingers, foam it up, then apply the cream/foam mix to my face. I’ve been using it every other night for the past week and I love the scent and how clean it makes my skin feel.
Here’s the entire box! Wow, it was packed with amazing products, all smelling like delicious chocolatey goodness, and making my skin feel amazing too! I think that the WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask was my favorite, followed up by the Etude House Milk Talk, however I loved all the items in this box and would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a sweet tooth like me.
