Ipsy GlamBag June 2013

It’s that time of the month again… for my FAVORITE SUBSCRIPTION BAG! The Ipsy Glambag, of course. Unfortunately, I’m on the later-side of receiving the bag, so I had to patiently (or not so patiently) wait for my bag to arrive while some friends received and posted about theirs days before me! Anyway, I’m not too upset, because this bag was AWESOME!

The image above shows the entire bag and its contents, focusing on the theme of “On The Wild Side”. Couldn’t ya tell from that leopard print and neon bag!? I’m definitely a fan of the bag switch up- I’m more into the patterned, unique styles than the bland brown and black makeup bags.

Here’s a close-up of the theme card, along with the leopard-print and neon yellow makeup bag. 🙂

I thought the J.Cat Sparkling Cream Palette was way cool, especially since it has ‘natural’ colors in glittery shades. I could easily blend some of it into my eyeshadow (or dip an eyeliner brush in it and use it as crazy liquid liner), or even put some in my hair for a bit of sparkle on a night out. Sure, I won’t be using it everyday, but it’ll get good use.

The Chella Highlighter Pencil in Lace/Cream was also a good surprise. This full-sized product is great for making your eyes pop, highlighting your brow bones and overall enhancing your look. I actually don’t have any products like this, so I’m interested in trying it out.

The Pssssst! Dry Shampoo is the one item that I’m really not too keen on. I already received a NYC Streets Dry Shampoo in my last BeautyArmy purchase about a month or two ago, plus I got the Big Sexy Hair volume powder in a prior Ipsy Glambag. So, easy to say, I won’t be needing any spray dry shampoos or hair powders anytime soon….

I really do wish I got the Cailyn purple gel eyeliner, as that is totally my thing. I do a black ‘cat-eye’ of winged eyeliner just about everyday, whether I’m heading to work (and keep the rest natural) or going out at night (with either some bold red lipstick, or smokey shadow and mascara).

Already a fan of NYX products so I’m into this cream blush. So, SO happy that I did not get the crazy hot pink one. I had my fingers crossed for either this style or the bronzing mosaic one!

It’s pretty hard to take a good picture of a pencil, so I apologize for that in advance. I’ve actually never used lip liner before, so I’m willing to give this StarLooks Lip Liner a try…. but I’ll admit, I’m pretty nervous. Perhaps I’ll give an update once I’ve mastered it!

All in all, the 2013 June Ipsy GlamBag was worth WAY over the $10 they charge you for it. The Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter pencil itself was $18, so you could imagine ($12 lip liner, $18 highlighter… you’re already at $30! Unfortunately since I received the Psssst Dry Shampoo, I think my price quality went down, but this bag was definitely $45)
