Hi all! I apologize that I’ve been a bit busy, so in the interim and while I work on some November box reviews, fashion styling and more, here’s an Instagram round-up from the past week/weekend!
I am recently OBSESSED with fur: I want allll the fur vests, earmuffs, scarves, etc. If it’s super soft and warm, it’s perfect for me. So, I pulled out this giant fluffy brown multi-colored vest from my closet, plus hung up a new white/cream fur vest I picked up last week at Forever 21 and began to prep my outfit options.
With the cold, windy weather planned for today, I knew it would be a perfect day to break out that new vest, and so I paired it with a super comfy tan marled turtleneck tunic from Forever 21, Leggings from Express, Pink and Pepper Boots from DSW and some simple jewelry/makeup.
If it’s this cold this early in November, I’m scared for the next two months to come. Bundle up!
Speaking of turtlenecks, I am also loving this burgundy thick-knit turtleneck sweater (also from Forever21!) which I paired with a bold burgundy lip (BareMinerals Moxie Lipstick), American Eagle dark skinny jeans and black riding boots from DSW. Can you tell that I love fall weather and the color burgundy/berry!?
Enough w/ the fashion, let’s talk food. If you havn’t had an acai/smoothie bowl before, I highly recommend you run out to your closest Jamba Juice or other health/smoothie store and ask for one of these babies! This super-thick smoothie is a blend of banana, strawberry, blueberry and acai juice, topped w. fresh bananas, granola, almonds and honey. It’s basically like if your fruit smoothie and yogurt had a baby.
Speaking of smoothies, I tried to recreate it myself. Definitely delicious and I think the mason jar made it extra cute. Mason jars are the best for gifts, to act as vases, hold drinks, etc.. . I’m planning on doing some mason jar cookie sets as gifts for the holidays + spray painting some w/ silver spray and using it to hold makeup brushes and other items in my room.
Speaking of gifts and the holidays, I’ve been doing a lot of baking, shopping and gift planning. I definitely recommend you check out your local TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Home Goods this season and see what they have in terms of Philosophy products. I got this adorable Philosophy The Cookbook 4-mini set of holiday/baked goods scented body washes and I can’t wait to use them! Cinnamon buns is my absolute favorite…
In other food and drink updates, this weekend, Kevin came by to visit and we had a nice lazy day and then went out to dinner!
We went to a sushi restaurant right nearby my apartment and I totally loved the plating and extra effort put into the presentation!
Plus, my brother and his wife came into town for a few days, so we met up for drinks and got these awesome craft beer flights at Draught 55. I have definitely found a new favorite hangout in this bar!
After a week/weekend like this, I was exhausted! But I am excited for the next few days, because my BIRTHDAY is on Thursday (tomorrow)! Woohoo! So I have some happy hours, dinners and nights out planned, plus, of course, going to see the Hunger Games. What did your past week look like? Anything exciting happening this week/weekend?
You look so cozy! Love the fur!
