Hi all! Hope you’ve missed me and my fashion, beauty and subscription box spoilers and unboxing posts while I’ve been gone, but I just had a lovely, long vacation in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I spent the past 7 days+ laying poolside, sipping on frozen drinks, and much more, so I decided a quick Instagram picture post might be an easy way to show you the highlights!
In order to prep for my trip, a bright, funky colored mani-pedi was in order. I just recently got this color called Essie Madison Ave-hue and I am LOVING it! It’s in between a pink and a purple and perfect for summer.
While hanging out in the airport, I noticed a Benefit Cosmetics vending machine! I had heard of them via news posts and word-of-mouth, but never seen one in person until leaving for my flight at JFK! This cute bus-shaped vending machine carried just about every Benefit product, plus some value packs! I was tempted to purchase, but tried to refrain myself…
First official day in Cocoa Beach (Sunday) meant a pool/bikini selfie! Sandra and I were beyond psyched to get away from work and wake up and go directly to the pool every morning…
The pool was only open to those who owned or lived in the condo complex we were at, and it was a salt-water pool, which was pretty cool. Made it easy to float, but really hard to swim laps!
And of course a vacation calls for a frozen drink! We blended up some Strawberry Coladas (aka mixed strawberry daquiris and pina coladas with malibu) for a nice happy hour drink.
The beach was beaaautiful! The water was smooth and warm with minimal rocks in sight and warm water.
…and the sunset was even prettier…
Sandra ate about a dozen bananas per day on her vegan raw-til-four diet… while I devoured everything else in the house.
…and we both went on a Thai Food kick… the curries, noodles and stir fries were amazing!
Aaaand, took a lot more selfies.
…and then thought the rest of our week was going to be ruined by Tropical Storm Arthur, but luckily it subsided, and only really rained for a full day!
One of the coolest aspects had to be going down to the dock on the river side, and checking out the scene.
There were adorable chubby manatees floating around, chewing on lettuce and nuzzling other manatees. Every once in a while, we saw dolphins jumping in the distance too!
Like I mentioned before, we ate a LOT of food.
and drank a lot of tropical drinks…
…because, when you’re on vacation, why not!?
It was a real tough life waking up each morning to lay out and swim in the saltwater pool, then make happy hour frozen drinks, and figure out what to eat or where to go out that night…
Our favorite spot had to be The Sandbar, with their rowdy, fun crowd, strong drinks and amazing food, like these crab legs and veggie burrito below!
What did you do for 4th of July weekend? Go on any wild vacations of your own?
