Wow, my May Glossybox for Bergdorf Goodman finally arrived last week! Glossybox occasionally does collaboration boxes, like they did with Net-a-Porter and Dallas Shaw, and so when we heard they were teaming up with BG, we knew high-end quality brands would be included! So, even though my box arrived super late (cough, it’s June), I was still excited to check it out…
I’m a big fan of GlossyBox’s packaging, with their reusable and heavy-duty boxes, plus cute ribbons and tissue paper. This month’s box matched the Bergdorf Goodman color scheme with its pretty light purple box.
Best of all, it included a $25 gift card to BG, good for use on just about anything! P.S. Glossybox subscribers got their box for $21, while BG is selling them online for $40, woah!
As usual, they included an information card/booklet, and while there were some other products I wanted to try out (they varied about 14 different items), these seemed pretty interesting…
First up is Révive Intensité Volumizing Eye Serum, and apparently this sample (yes, just the sample!) costs $70. Which I think is insane… but hey, if it works, can’t hurt to use it. It’s supposed to fill in any wrinkles and lines, plump the skin and area around your eyes, and overall make you look younger and fresher. Dark, hollow circles or bags? Gone.
I’ve heard alllll about this product Alterna Caviar CC Cream and so I was excited to try it out. Many bloggers and beauty writers have been reviewing and talking about this amazing cc cream for your hair that is supposed to help in a variety of ways. It made mine feel pretty soft and smooth, so I think it’s working!
This (ultra-expensive- $55 sample priced) Lancer Lift Serum has an Intense Stem Cell Recovery Complex supposed to lift and firm your face/skin. It’s silky smooth in texture and glides on like many of my other serums, yet it feels so light and luxurious.
Hourglass Cosmetics Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara – I love trying new mascaras, so I’m always game.. plus, I’ve heard Hourglass is a great brand! It’s not as phenomenal as Tarte Lights Camera Flashes or Benefit They’re Real, but it does make lashes look long and luxurious.
Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolue had to be my least favorite item in the box… I’m not big on getting perfumes in subscription boxes just because 1. I’m super picky and 2. I rotate between 4 different perfumes based on the season and my mood, so this wasn’t a big winner for me. Plus, it reminded me of old ladies.
Finally, we have Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer. These individual packets contain the primer, which goes on before makeup to help smooth and prep skin. I definitely will carry these for long weekends!
I resubscribed to Glossybox (I cancelled after the so-so April Box) when I heard it was a Bergdorfs collaboration box and was really happy with the previews I had seen. Yes, it’s a LOT of skincare products and many are anti-aging related, but I know the brands are high-quality and they included a $25 giftcard which basically covers the cost of the box. I just finished filling out surveys to get glossydots as well, so my next box (June) will be free and then I’m officially thinking about moving to Ipsy and Boxycharm only..
