GlossyBox shipped exceptionally late this month.. not sure the reason, but people were getting their boxes delivered up until this weekend mid-May!

Here’s the first look at my April 2014 GlossyBox! I had revealed a few spoilers earlier in April (see here) and wasn’t sure what to expect as the “surprise” items.

As usual, they included an information booklet with details on the included items.

So I wasn’t overly ecstatic for this Aqua Spa Relax Body Crème, just because I have so many body lotions and creams, plus it smells like lavendar. I have a feeling I’ll be giving it to my mom a part of her birthday present this summer.

I have really loved my past Bellápierre Cosmetic items, so I was interested to check out the Bellápierre Cosmetic  Vanilla Pink Super Gloss. It’s a nice pale pink-nude color that seems ideal for various skin tones. I’m not a big gloss person, but could see myself using it from time to time. Plus, it’s enriched with Vitamin E, Jojoba, Avocado and Sunflower waxes so it smells yummy and softens lips.

Everyone has been raving about Caldrea Body Wash, so of course I was interested now too. This sudsy, lightly scented body wash contains brightening, free-radical fighting Angelica Root and Linden Flower extracts to give you smooth, glowing skin.

A variety of Ciaté London Paint Pots were included this month, with colors ranging from neon yellow and orange to white and pink. I, of course, got a crazy neon green shade, which I’ll figure out a way to use, but it’s definitely too intense to wear daily to work. I would have preferred a seafoam green or pale mint, or one of the various other color options.

I was probably most interested in the LA Splash Cosmetics Eyeshadow Sealer/Base. This product works as a primer for your eyelids, so when you apply an eyeliner or eyeshadow, it intensifies color and provides extra protection against smears and smudges for flawless 12 hour wear. Plus, it creates a grip for glitter!

All in all, this wasn’t really my favorite GlossyBox. I was disappointed in the body crème, not impressed by the lip gloss and a little discouraged by my nail polish color.
