A few days ago, I came home and was happy to see that my BirchBox had arrived!
I hadn’t checked my showroom, so I knew most of the items would be a surprise…
This month’s theme is “Spring Forward” and includes a floral information card with details about all the included products.
First up, we have this trio of Mighty Tea Bags. In general, I like the brand Mighty Tea: the physical tea bags, the flavors, etc, however I don’t like getting them in my Birchbox when I could have gotten a makeup, skincare or haircare sample instead!
Next we have Vasanti BrightenUp! Exfoliating Cleanser and Skin Rejuvenator. This was a pretty nice sized sample and worked well! My skin felt smoother and softer and a bit more cleared up. Definitely would try again or recommend.
Next up is a Coola Tinted Matte Mineral Sunscreen. I’ve actually used these before and have had good and bad experiences: one that came in my Ipsy Glambag exploded en route, another didn’t have much lotion and the latter worked well as a makeup base. In general, I don’t think I’ll re-purchase but I will definitely use this like a BB cream.
Air Repair Rescue Balm is an all-purpose salve, which can be used on dry cuticles and skin, chapped lips, cuts and more. Personally, I’m not a fan of the scent, however it does its job by softening, smoothing and making my skin feel brand new!
Who doesn’t enjoy chocolate.. seriously!? This Ghirardelli Intense Dark Cherry Tango was delicious. I wish they had either included more, or added another product to my box.
Finally, we have Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper. In general, my hair is more on the wavy side and I tend to only use mousse and/or spray waving gel to style it (besides using curling irons, flat irons and the protection sprays and hair sprays that go with those), so this wasn’t a bit hit for me. I would have preferred a beachy wave spray, leave-in detangler or totally different beauty product.
All in all, I wasn’t really overwhelmed with my March Birchbox. The most exciting part of this month’s box would be the exfoliating product, but there were no “makeup” items, and I would have preferred them much over the teas, chocolate or hair product. Even though this box was a flop, at least I earned BB points by reviewing the products, which can be used to order full-size items through their shop.
