Ipsy Glambag ~ March

image

My Ipsy Glambag has arrived!

Ipsy released the contents of their March Glam Bag, and of course, I peeked (see spoilers here)! I almost always am happy with my Ipsy GlamBag, or at least like 3-4 out of the 5 products included. This month, I was a little confused as I only saw 4 items… but then noticed they had a designer custom-design the bags and some higher-end brands, so I guess they chose quality over quantity.

The March 2014 Ipsy theme was “Destination Beauty” and included items that work at home or away, and in different weather and atmospheres.

Now, onto the goodies. Here are the four products I received:

I fell head over heels for this mini bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready. Unlike some of the recent hot pinks and bold reds, this is more of a muted mauve and goes on smoothly. It’ll be a nice change every once in a while!

I love NYX, however I already have the NYX Love in Paris 9-eyeshadow set. So, this NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow, as pretty as the colors might be, will be going into my trade/gifting pile.

I was intrigued to see a colorful Chella makeup product, as I have only used their highlighting pencils in the past. This brand new Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner is similar to a silky liquid eyeliner pen, and can be used to draw on a thin line or bold cat eye. Can’t wait to try!

I used to be so anti-primer until a few months ago, when finally, I gave my primer samples a try and began to understand! This Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer goes on under makeup as a base to hide pores and smooth skin so you look flawless and pretty all day long.

Finally, the bag was designed by Klari Reis and is apparently a street map of where Ipsy began, right in San Fran! I like that it has a hologram-feel to it.

PLUS! Since I racked up Ipsy Points from product reviews and referrals, I chose a full-size Benefit High Beam using 1,000 points! This product is a highlighter that you apply to skin to give it a dewy, glowing look. Personally, I use it on my cheekbones to contrast with bronzer/blush, my eyelids to perk them up, and under the brow bones for definition, all after applying foundation. This is definitely one of the perks of being an Ipsy Glambag Girl!

All in all, I was happy with my March Ipsy Glambag. I definitely would have went for the Pacifica Body Butter, but totally loved the bareminerals Lipstick, Pixi Primer and Chella Eyeliner.

  1. We got the same bag! I wonder if our style preferences are similar. (: I really loved the eye liner and the lipstick but the other two were a bust for me. Overall, I’m always pretty happy with ipsy though and I loved their bag design/concept this month!

On another note, I’ve been following your blog for a long time and love all of your reviews! You’re one of my go-tos when I look for new subscription boxes. (:

    xoxo, M.
