So silly me, I wrote up this whole amazing post and thought it went live this weekend, but in fact, I scheduled it for the wrong month. So anyway, I HAVE to introduce you to this PHENOMINAL (yes, I’m really that excited) food box called UrthBox!
UrthBox aims to choose foods that are natural, organic, and GMO-free, PLUS they have 4 different box options to choose from: Classic, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Diet. Regardless of the box you choose, you’ll receive full-size and deluxe sample-sized products. Boxes are $25/month (shipping included) and get cheaper based on what length subscription you buy (6 months = only $19 per month!) Personally, I chose to go with the Original Box, as I don’t have any allergies/restrictions, but may change it up for the diet box next month!
I’m happy to see that they included an information card, as I was curious about some of the products included, and even thought about re-purchasing and needed to know where I could buy them!
Before I go any further, I want to stress HOW HEAVY the box was, meaning I had a good feeling about it… When I opened it up, it was packed to the top!
So onto the goodies!
I’ve actually received Dang Toasted Coconut Chips in a few boxes, but they are quite tasty and so I didn’t mind getting them again. These Dang Chips are simply good for you and delicious, plus they are vegan, gluten-free, non-gmo, no cholesterol and filled with fiber! Personally, I’m looking into ways to cook with them, like crumbling them on top of Chicken Lettuce Wraps!
These Next By Nature Dark Chocolate Covered Cashews were to die for, and the best of both worlds. I love dark chocolate and nuts, so anything that combines them gets a thumbs up in my book. I almost had to steal them away from K because he kept eating them all! Apparently the company makes Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds and Cherries, so I may be on the prowl for those to try.
I’ve had many Annie Chun’s products before, and so I was happy to see this Annie Chun’s White Sticky Rice Bowl included in my UrthBox. There is just something about that chinese food/sushi style sticky rice that is impossible to make at home. The only downside is that it really is not diet-friendly, at all. It may be 100% natural, low-fat, and gluten-free, but it has 67g. of carbs, which means I’d really have to limit myself.
Once again, another brand I love! TastyBite makes a great variety of Indian Foods, and are perfect for when you’re on the go, or want the flavors of India without going to a restaurant. Sure, it’s not 100% the same as going out to eat the authentic stuff, but it serves its purpose. TastyBite Jaipur Vegetables is a combination of garden vegetables and cubes of paneer cheese simmered with spices, cashew nuts and raisins, which I’ve never had before, but am sure I will like. Now I need some garlic naan!
I love Annie’s Naturals, and was pleasantly surprised to see this full-size container of Annie’s Naturals Organic Horseradish Mustard. I usually tend to go for honey-mustard flavors, yet I know this will have a complex, slightly spicy kick to it and I can see myself using it on ham, roast beef/pot roast and coming up with unique recipes.
Unfortunately, these were just not my style. These Reeds Ginger Chews are these very chewy taffy-style candy in a spicy ginger flavor. If they were a little sweeter, I might enjoy them, but they have a bit of a kick that just doesn’t react well with my tastebuds.
This here is a yummy WOW Oregon Oatmeal Cookie. It’s a “twist” on the classic oatmeal cookie as it is filled with bits of cranberries & apricots. I definitely am interested in trying more flavors of these WOW cookies like Lemon Burst and Peanut Butter.
I looove nut butters, so this one was a win for me. This is the Classic Justin’s Almond Butter, so it’s not sweetened, but tastes great blended into a smoothie or on an apple. I actually just ordered a jar of Justin’s Maple Almond Butter and can’t wait to try it out!
At first I wasn’t sure I would like these, but actually the Inka Corn Sea Salt & Vinegar snacks were addictive! They were the texture of a corn pop (like the cereal) with a crunch and the flavor of salt and vinegar chips. Unusual but tasty!
I’m particular with my energy drinks and am a huge SugarFree Redbull fan, so it was nice to see an alternative like NEOEnergy to try out. With energy, antioxidants and electrolytes, this drink will keep you active as well as hydrated.
All in all, I LOVED my January Classic Urthbox. It had a great variety of snacks: nuts, cookies, chips, ‘meal helpers’ like rice and indian veggies, drinks, condiments and more! Plus, almost everything was full-size, or if not, it was a deluxe sample. I almost wish I had received double the items accidentally.
