New York Fashion Week is right around the corner, so what better time to focus on some upcoming trends for the Spring and Summer season? Or better yet, how to transition some of your favorite Fall and Winter styles intro Spring!? Last season, I bought a LOT of interesting fashion pieces. Some were spur of the moment choices, such as a fringe skirt and suede crop top. Others, however, were smarter investments, such as a longline vest, tailored white button-downs, ankle booties and more. Based on the fit, color and material, many of these items will be trendy for longer than just a few months. Match up an item like a camel-colored longline vest from last season with skinny dark blue jeans, a simple top (in my preference a white crop or tank top), then pair with some patterned ballet flats and a cute clutch, and you have an entire look all set! To amp up this outfit, apply a berry or burgundy lipstick, sunglasses, gold jewelry and/or a felt hat. Forget running out to buy all new items and charging everything to your credit card; you have some great universal items in your closet just waiting to be re-used. It’s up to you to mix and match!
