Now, I know you’ve been wondering, “Where has Mackenzie been!?”and “Why hasn’t she posted in a few days” … well, I’ve been crazy busy not only with my new job responsibilities, but I was also away for the past few days prepping for my brother’s wedding!
So, I’ve included some pictures and a bit of a breakdown of the entire weekend for you…
As one of the bridesmaids, we had the rehearsal dinner on Friday with our close family and friends (other bridesmaids/groomsmen). We all dressed up and headed down to the restaurant at the Delmar called l’escale and were treated to a great dinner with a few different choices. We all started out with frog legs, and then I opted for the fried oysters and a rabbit ragu with in-house homemade pasta.
And then we spent all day Saturday primping, pampering and getting photographed, finally to experience the wedding itself! We had hair and makeup people brought in, monogrammed robes, Starbucks, champagne and lunch, and basically were able to hang out, get beautified and enjoy time with one another before the ceremony.
The flowers came out beautifully- an array that matched the bridesmaids dresses and had a soft, vintage, romantic feel, all wrapped up with twine.
It was a sweet, short but meaningful ceremony (I was up at the front, so I couldn’t take any pictures of it!), and they celebrated at the beautiful Delamar Greenwich with 50 of their closest family members and friends. After walking up and down the aisle outside in the beautiful 70-degree weather, and the vows were finished, we were treated to a great cocktail hour with custom cocktails such as the Starfruit Fizz shown above, cheese, crackers, escargot and a variety of other passed appetizers.
Then, everyone went inside and found their tables so the dinner reception could begin. There’s K and I looking fancy and goofy at the same time.
We each had individual place settings with the menu printed, our names and more. Plus, K and I jumped right into the photobooth to get a few pictures before it got too busy.
Now, let me tell you, the food was amazing! We had crab cakes (with barely any filler) and lentil salad, and then for dinner, I opted for the Lobster Risotto.
Yes, that’s an entire claw and tail.
And finally… the bride and groom!
We had such a great time drinking, eating and dancing, that by the time it was over, I was ready for bed, and the only thing getting me through the next day was a looot of coffee.
What did you do this weekend?
Looks like you had a blast! Loving the blonder locks for the warm months ahead!
